Newlyweds Celestial and Roy are the embodiment of both the American Dream and the New South. He is a young business executive and she is a promising artist. While visiting Roy’s parents in a small Louisiana town Roy is arrested and sentenced to twelve years for a crime Celestial knows he did not commit. As Roy’s time in prison passes, Celestial is unable to sustain the love that meant so much to her.
